I'm in the same boat! A few books that I've read that have helped: Making a Manager by Julie Zhuo, Radical Candor by Kim Scott, and Scaling People by Claire Hughes Johnson. You don't have to be a strong personality, you just have to be a clear communicator and care about your people. Good luck!
Appreciate this! Thank you so much :) I'll definitely check those out. Best of luck to you too
Congratulations! The first part of leading is saying that you can do this. Always remember to show empathy, but don’t let anyone take advantage. Set clear boundaries and have fun.

Coach
My boss is doing weekly 1 on 1 meetings with each team member for 30 minutes to make sure she is on the same page. It’s a bit of reporting and a bit of sharing information from management standpoint.
A big thing of leadership/management is listening and responding. The biggest complaints I have had usually stems from a lack of listening and misunderstandings.
If something makes your blood curl (and it is not a emergency setting), give yourself time to cool off and find a way to respond before re- engaging. Your goal is to be the cool head when tempers run high. (I’m still struggling with this one)
Find ways to celebrate the wins! How do folks want to be celebrated for birthdays, weekly wins, big wins, or just because it’s taco Tuesday. Not everyone wants their picture in the paper or a cake. But thrive when they have a handwritten card or a sticky note meme on their computer monitor.
Have touch bases with each of the members. Learn more about them and their desired coaching style. I like to inquire about their goals and the direction they want to go in their role and also share the same for myself. It’s going to me a learn as you go situation. Support your team and they will support you!
