Watch out for the connect with partnerX invite. You don't get one of those you are good. I got mine in March. Recently promoted this past September but had low utilization. It's a great opportunity to find something else. Got 15K more from another firm
*presents Outstanding Performance Award to D18 on behalf of FB*
Human capital has directly promised no layoffs every call for the last three months.
I directly know of layoffs
Everyone under manager should prioritize utilization over all.
All firms are cutting the fat right now. Only be nervous if you suck.
Anyone else think D5 sounds like a dick? Got ppl getting laid off and he's telling them they suck. Good luck D13 ! Prayers up.
I know an S&O DHC who got laid off today and just started in January...sucks
A bunch of people in SF were let go today
It's that time of the year, year-end. Where we let go those who are not billable and have low utilization. Did you really think the Partners were going to pay your salary?
I doubt she was a top performer if she got laid off. Only reason you get laid off is if you're not utilized or if you're not promoted (if you're not promoted you're not a top performer).
Top performers who are staffed are getting cut too. Confirmed
So for people starting this fall, seems like we should prioritize utilization over all else?
Hang in there guys! I was personally let go due to low utilization several years back, the grass is greener!
Yes
Not being a dick; the argument was over fully utilized top performers getting cut. This guy might be a top performer, but your target is 85% - if you don't hit that you are at risk in a bad year.
Someone I know very personally (my OBA) was let go yesterday :(
Thanks Deloitte 12! I'm only a 1st year analyst and I've always wanted to work for a big firm but now I've been thinking of making a switch to a smaller , more niche firm as I'm becoming a little put off by some of of the big firm feels
Yeah, unless you directly know of a layoff let's stop these scare posts
