Hi fellow fishies!
Can someone please explain what is “SUPPLEMENTARY allowance” in my payslip??? It is the highest in my entire payslip, more than basic salary. Basic is lets say ₹7 lac annually and supplementary bonus is ₹7 lac 40 thousand.
Can someone please explain why this exists in my paylslip, is it good or bad from tax perspective and shall I ask my HR to decrease it???
Please help asap.

If you leave before you’re paid they don’t have much incentive to pay you. That’s why so many lateral moves happen between late January and March.
Our firm still pays out bonuses. But tbh, our company decisions happen in February, so we don’t have “Christmas bonuses” just annual ones. That said, they still get paid out for people who leave the firm right around comp decision time.
Holy autocorrect - comp decisions. Not company decisions. Ugh. 🤦♀️
What year are you?
Fair enough. Out of curiosity Do you know the cost basis of your firm in the cases you settled?
I do and the sums far exceed firm costs and expenses. I guess I'm disgruntled given the stark difference in this year's"victories" compared to last and the bonus. Honestly, this check is laughable at best.
I learned that the hard way. Next week is my last week and I got the "if you were staying, this would be more" talk. Just seems ridiculous to penalize someone for working their tails off
