Glad you cared enough to post about it here. None of these things affect you and you don’t know those other people’s story. In the future, probably best just to keep this to yourself

What’s worst about LinkedIn is how bad their job search feature is. If I search for a job title like “Senior Internal Auditor,” or “Senior Financial Analyst,” I would hope to see jobs which closely align to those searches. Instead I get 1000 results, 90% of which do not relate at all to what I’m looking for. LinkedIn also seems to love recommending jobs whose geographic location is 1000+ miles away. Prefer indeed myself, but even that is bad.

You forgot #4. The people who get triggered over Linkedin posts and have to tell people about it to show how "not corporate" they are
I agree with you OP. Well said
Anyone who comments on “influencer” posts is also a mega weirdo.
Where are you going OP
Please tell us where it is exactly and we all will follow you.
You think that’s bad, I have a connection whose header is “CPA with the 3rd largest accounting firm in state x and #85 in the IPA Top 100”. The firm is a regional firm with less than 200 employees lol
😭
OP: leaving corporate world? Where you going?
Having a strong LinkedIn presence matters in mainly in two situations: when you are trying to leave/job hunting; and when you get to SM/PPMD level and start doing business development.
For the first, the stronger you build your profile, the more recruiters will start reaching out to you and if your profile is bare bones, you may miss out on some great opportunities.
For the second, SMs/PPMDs are literally given firm-approved scripts to DM VPs/CEOs/CFOs to sell work. Also, at that level, most execs have people managing their accounts for them.
What you perceive as “cringe” literally puts food on people’s table. If you’re insecure about your own accomplishments compared to theirs, then work harder on your own personal development. Otherwise, mind your business and just let people be.
Your observation in and of itself is played out. People criticizing LinkedIn posts is viral everywhere and you doing the same thing here to get reaffirmation/attention is ironically just as bad as those exaggerated posts.
Lastly, in this lopsided economy with massive layoffs in the tens of thousands, people spending months job searching/not knowing where their next paycheck is coming from, why wouldn’t you boost your profile? It seems pretty idiotic not to. I say cringe it up! Get your bag!
Yea not reading all that 😴
