That’s a great question. I think there will come a time when the market normalizes a bit, but keeping up and staying relevant will still be a challenge. Hopefully, companies will invest more time and resources into helping employees stay current. It’s ultimately a smart investment for them, too.
Likely a tougher road ahead especially for those who haven’t kept up on relevant skills.
I heard from a recruiter that he can foresee more involvement of AI in the whole screening and interviewing process plus more and more employers are going to care more for results and what you can do for them NOW rather than what training can they provide to help you in your job. In other words, if you do not possess the EXACT skills / education / experience employers are looking for to be able to produce results the very first day of employment then you are out of luck.
The very same recruiter, thought that applicants and even employees are going to be more transactional for employers hence employers are going to even pickier on who they hire and when plus being quicker at cutting the fat.
