Hello, can someone with amazon provide guidance on how to properly follow up after submitting my application for a non-tech role. I submitted 5 apps so far and will appreciate any guidance or referrals if possible. Positions are related to fraud, investigations, anti-money laundering. You’ll need to raise this with your manager to do anything else is going to be dangerous for you. And depending on the relationships, you may not want to raise it in the way you raised it here. It could be a question or a request for resources …something like “is there a way I can get additional resources because I am looking to make an impact with projects, ABCD and E; however, I do not have the bandwidth for all of them.”
Your manager will immediately realize which projects or work that she did not assigned to you and she will probably have to back this other person off of you that immediately or get you additional resources
I’d follow up with an email recapping the conversation and thanking her for her support in advance
Ask your manager and her manager to speak to the person. “Backing” doesn’t mean much if they’re not vocal about it to the person who needs to get the message.
Or,
Reply all, adding in both managers, saying “No, I understand this request has already been discussed and my priorities have been set already by my own manager.”

If you are not peers with this person, then your manager needs to step up and help mitigate/manage your workflow and priorities in addition to backing you. Or just politely respond cc’ing your manager (and theirs) that you cannot take this on due to lack of bandwidth and leave it at that.
