GF just got a job in Fort Worth and for anyone who lives in the DFW area... are there any POC that live in Fort Worth? lol we’re visiting and see mostly white people and not a whole lot of diversity?
Happy Birthday America. As a 2nd generation American, I am thankful for my family, the abundant lucrative career opportunities, the diversity of people, food, cultures, experiences and landscapes, the excitement and buzz, the kindness and generosity of Americans who have opened doors for me and guided me to success, the innovative FAANG industry where I work, and the consistent kindness of my friends, colleagues and complete strangers - easily the nicest people in the Western world. Thanks.
Thinking about joining tech. 🐠 What are the non-FAANG companies do you see the highest potential (thinking that joining FAANG today probably doesn’t provide that much upside)? From a preference standpoint, most interested in fin tech and health tech. But trying to solve for RSU potential above all
Struggling with a decision. Just started a new role with good manager and WLB within healthcare technology. But another large tech firm/cloud/software reached out and willing to pay 20% more. Not sure what the WLF is for this other role. Should I take the better paying role?
Different type of question. Looking to buy an EKG machine. Totally new to this, so hoping someone here related to anyone in healthcare would be able to help. Any leads on where should I look?
Looking for a Remote position or Local to Northern New Jersey please let me know if you hear of anything !
"No, the Google manifesto isn’t sexist or anti-diversity. It’s science." Interesting take by (female) scholar: https://beta.theglobeandmail.com/opinion/no-the-google-manifesto-isnt-sexist-or-anti-diversity-its-science/article35903359/?ref=https://www.theglobeandmail.com&service=mobile
Why is PwC insurance so shitty?!!
Do other firms have an Asian Diversity or affinity group? If so, what are some of the things the networks have done which have been helpful?
With WFH, I like to take quick naps (15 min) 2-3 times in between my schedule. I have been working very long hours (14-15 hours a day). I will miss my naps, the healthy snacks (I try to eat salads) and the quick workouts the most when wfh gets over. What will you miss the most?
You'd think I'd be used to waking up alone every morning by now! The loneliest part of WFH. :(
Thoughts on ad agency diversity data, now that it’s being released? “Across the entire (Havas) organization in the U.S., 6.11% of employees are Black, 10.8% are Hispanic or Latino and 9.66% are Asian.”
Holy crap, is it common in professional services to openly refer to people as "diversity hires"? I mean I went to the same top 20 b school, paid the same $120k, got the same 650+ gmat.
I make over a quarter of a million dollars a year working in finance and since wfh over half my "work hours" time I'm just playing video games or reading a book.
How do you break out of insurance defense litigation? Getting burnt out after 6 yrs. . .
Have any of your firms discussed a flexible WFH policy post-pandemic? I’m happier & my hours are through the roof. I want to approach management with policy ideas for people like me who are thriving.
26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.
Thoughts on the best way to hold cash I'm planning to use it as housing down payment in ~6 months? Thinking about placing it in my existing HYSA (which isn't all that HY) rather than investing given volatility of markets and capital gains taxes but maybe there's other ideas. Sources will be existing investments, cast bonus and sale of current property.
Starting to get more involved in the project sales process - any recommendations for books or resources to develop skills in this area?
I have a 2 hour commute home. In an interview for a role, is it reasonable to ask if I’d be able to leave work an hour early every day and do an hour’s worth of work on the train home?
Has anyone recovered from COVID but continued to test positive? Did this mess up any travel plans for places that require a negative test? Currently COVID positive (mild symptoms thank goodness) and have a trip to Hawaii planned for Christmas. Wondering if I should try to get refunds while it’s still possible or take the chance and hope my tests come back negative by then. Would appreciate any advice!
Do partners at top consulting firms have better WLB? An Associate here contemplating whether all this is worth it. Thanks!
Hi, So i joined LTI after being offered 8 LPA for 2 years experience. A friend of mine who is joining after me and has the same experience and for the same position is getting 9.5 LPA. Can I renegotiate my salary or the ship has sailed?

Advice for getting an internship this summer (MBA student)? Do hospitals systems do this or would I be better off looking at other areas of healthcare? Focusing on strategy and biz dev. Any advice or people willing to talk much appreciated.
Are you entitled to parental leave benefits from Day 1 at Accenture? We will have a baby within the first year of me working at Accenture…trying to confirm whether I’ll be eligible for leave benefits.
Darden vs Johnson vs Ross ( No dollars) Post MBA: Location No-Preference MBB Consulting/ Product Management @ FAANG Note: I'm an international on an H1B Visa TIA!
Has anyone filed and had luck to expedite there refund from prior years by filling out form 911 - request for taxpayer advocate service assistance? If I do that, is that going to effect during any stage of the green card process?
Stay with current company or move up-market before going AE/management? Currently top SDR/BDR at SaaS company selling to SMBs w/option to move to SDR management or AE. Also have offers to move to larger SaaS companies at the Enterprise level still as BDR
Anyone else questioning getting an MBA in light of the pandemic and shifting sentiment on remote work? I started a job that’s fully remote and flexible. It’s in a fast moving industry and I feel like taking 2 years away can make me miss out on expected growth that will take place. 2 year grind and then working at some 9-5+ job that won’t be flexible and will likely have to go in office once things are back to normal. With current job I’m making good money and have more personal time.
Does anyone here hold a non-CFA designation (CFP, CAIA, FRM etc.) and what kind of role/position do you have?
Currently been in DDV the past 3 years and I am stuck. I’ve had interviews and final rounds but feel like my experience is too general to get the offer. I’ve done primarily IT/Ops DD and IMO/SMO work. I’m ultimately targeting S&O / bizops, Corp strategy, or program management in tech. Any suggestions on any mid-point pivots I can make to end up in tech?
