Looking for some guidance and/or referrals. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Currently have 6 years of experience in the financial industry.
~1 year as a branch sales/service associate
~1 1/2 years as a Loan Specialist
~1 year as a Fraud Operations Investigator
~3 years as an Operations Specialist
~3 months as a Financial Analyst

In my current role (Financial Analyst), it appears that management and the department is very unorganized.

Management appears to always be busy and do not have time to go over procedures/training. I’m honestly very bored with this job and I do not feel like I’m succeeding. At every other job I’ve had, after being with the company for 4 months, I would have learned everything. In this current company, the rhythm is not the same.
I’ve read a few post from other folks indicating that the market for jobs is a bit rough at the moment, so unsure if it’s a good idea to continue to apply elsewhere or remain at this job.
I have enjoyed working for different financial institutions and having different roles, however, I’m looking for some change and I’m lost as to where I should start looking.

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks

I’ve had radio silence from a small investment bank for about a week now. I’ve completed several rounds of interviews, but last Thursday the firm reposted the job I’ve been interviewing for. On Friday the headhunter said that they’re not sourcing new candidates and it’s probably just LinkedIn automatically refreshing the listing. She said they had a busy week last week but will make a final decision this week - is the delay and radio silence a bad sign or is this typical for experienced hiring?

Pros to EJ: Have my own office, a year or two away from partnership, great office setting and client satisfaction.

Pros to Merrill: Bump in compensation, additional tools and services w banking, ability to take over assets.
