To be totttttally honest, PM roles are highly coveted and in demand. It will be challenging to get a role without direct experience.
It may be worth applying to a job you align with and get hired at Google and then do a PM rotation program

Google prod mgrs are usually very technical - hopefully you are very technical.
Also...product mgr at a consulting firm is not considered an adjacent role for us

Most of our PMs were already working and creating things in their tech space prior to joining us
Basically you need to have an opinion and experience in the area that you want to work in
Teach yourself coding. A masters in CS could help, if you don't already have a BS in CS.
I have a similar question :) I have a French engineering degree in CS and Applied Maths
Should I try to add projects to my GitHub to demonstrate these skills ?
