It’s pretty heavy on staff aug from what I’ve seen. Very few projects. Also compensation won’t be as good as D. If WLB is all you want then go for it. If your ambitious and want a path to partner don’t bother.
I would say mediocre on staff aug depending what office and what practice you’re in. If you’re a technologist, way less staff aug. if you’re in program management, you’ll see more staff aug. SM1 is right on career path. I wouldn’t say at slalom we are less ambitious, we’re just not up or out. If you want to be a consultant, you can do that. If you want to move up and are hungry, you can do that too
Thanks, mind if I message you?
Let us know what market and someone will chime in. Overall, WLB is legit, but everyone has their opinions. Chicago definitely has a reputation of not great WLB
Idk about WLB not being there in Chicago, I have great WLB. I will say the culture is awful here though. Lots of politics and dumb initiatives that take away from what employees really care about in terms of improvements (pay, bonus, travel, people)
I’m looking to stop traveling and have more time to pursue my passions/side hustles. I have no intentions to get my MBA or pursue a partner position. Ultimate goal is to become financially independent through my side hustles and this move seems to support that goal.
I feel like I need a bit of cash saved up to get into real estate but at the moment am focusing on paying off my loans as quick as possible. Ru focusing on flipping or rentals?
OP - I think this would be the right move for you. You’ll get the balance you won’t. I can count on one hand the number of weeks I’ve worked more than 40 hours, and I’ve been here 4 years
