My interview with Microsoft for SE2 was scheduled and cancelled a day before. Neither I received any email regarding cancellation nor the recruiter informed me. Two days later I got an email saying Microsoft is freezing hiring for certain departments and the recruiter is ghosting me. Will I even get a chance to interview atleast?

I lateraled from a small firm to regional big law last year. I was told that my offer was commensurate with class year (5th year). The firm recently increased first year salary, with a 5% increase for all other attorneys. My original salary was equal to the new first year salary. The difference between my new salary and a first year is now $10k. I think it is fairly obvious that the hiring partner was not truthful with me. How would you address this? Is another lateral move my only option?

Help with a Google Cloud offer: Tenured Engagement Manager received an L5 offer for Product Strategy and Ops - still awaiting comp details. Need inputs calibrating whether it’s a good offer since couple of colleagues with similar profiles recently joined as L6 in the same role. No urgency to leave so happy to wait it out for 6-12 months to get a better offer. YoE: 10 yrs

How often are hiring committees? Does it depend on the group?

I had very positive feedback on my interviews for a S&O role but the team hired someone internally. If I interview again for a differenr role, would I have to do all the interviews again or can I use some of the scores from previous interviews. 1. Given it’s an internal consulting role, are the hours equally bad / worse than consulting firms?

Thoughts? This seems decent based on my research but couldn't find a ton of data points. What is the career trajectory/opportunity like is a Google CE? Opportunities to move to product later on or will I be heavily soloed within tech? How do refreshers work?
