Lost status with United - did their premier status match 2 years ago and can’t do it again (5 year wait).Should I just create a new frequent flyer with United and do a match again?

Questions- traveling with infant 8mo old. What's better? 1) one long haul flight 13 hours + 4 hours flight or 2) 9.5 hours+ 8 hours flight?

I know that's depends on the amount I have to travel (and potentially stay) but at the moment this is unknown. Past 8 months was just twice a month + 2 nights stay.

The only thing I know is it won't be every week, the return trian ticket is about £80-100, depends I could plan ahead.

Is it dumb to apply for the Hyatt credit card just to get the night free?

I never get upgraded on New York-San Fran flights. Flying United. Have you had any luck with Delta or American?

A few months ago I asked the question about using travel smart routers to host a VPN to disguise your location. The purpose of this is to have a working vacation in a foreign country, without telling work about it. My work computer has restricted access so I cannot install a VPN service on the computer without help from IT. My work around is a smart router that can directly host a VPN. Now I am in Cabo with a VPN to the US. I’ve included some details in a comment below. AMA

I have to go on a remote trip to a super old warehouse to comb through a storage container of documents this weekend last minute… there will be no wifi, no scanning, and no heat… I will not have access to mediocre hotel office until I go back into town (35+ minutes) and I don’t want to tote moldy wet documents around (yes I am bringing N95s and gloves) best phone apps for scanning?
