Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

t's frustrating that it took such a bold move to get a fair raise. I’m glad it worked, but it shouldn’t take financial distress to be valued. Have you noticed any shift in how leadership treats compensation conversations since then? Curious if this forced their hand or sparked broader change.

Bold move. It’s really very good it worked out the way it did and you’re quite lucky for that outcome. To others considering similar-I wouldn’t recommend this approach in general. You’re blessed that this turned out the way that it did, but there’s another sliding door with an outcome where this disclosure creates some question as to your judgment. At no point in any of the talent related roles I have held could I have seen this going well with leadership and resulting in a salary adjustment. Better approach is to benchmark your role (as best you can without access to salary studies comp teams use by using online and local network intel) and come to management with a data set and business case demonstrating that the market for the role has moved.
