Any Bainees willing to chat/refer?
Bain & Company Got dinged after a final round AC interview with Bain & Company as an experienced hire with 1 YOE. Currently at $75k base salary and on average work 30-40 hours a week.
Considering $15-25k increase in salary, but double the number of work hours, is it worth reapplying to Bain next year or better to wait to apply until after business school?
Bain & Company My 13 YO is taking Career and Tech. She is dead set on diving for Michigan. What are her chances of getting hired from MBB with a degree from UM? Or would she need her MBA first? Is a Michigan degree good enough to get you into a top MBA program?

step it up but yes. it might correltae to your resume screening so if you didn’t get picked you might wanna up your resume game.
I recruited out of MBA many years ago, but I recall that McKinsey had multiple invite-only events, but had way more interview slots than invitee slots.
Similar for BCG, though our invite-only events tended to include people who were more likely to actually get offers. (I.e., there was a bias toward helping those people get offers over others.)
Bain (at least at my T15 school) was more likely to only give interviews to those who were invited to such events. Much smaller pool at my school.
But the whole process is understandably stressful and frustrating, and can be a bias-filled crapshoot. Luck affects all of this a lot, so please just be kind to yourself and others. Wishing you good luck!
Yes
Yes - but step up networking, get a referral - try to find someone who can vouch for you internally
Yes. I never got invited to those things
Idk what SC1 is on about but yes, you absolutely still have a chance to get interviewed especially if the event was for a specific group (women, veterans, NY office, Life Science practice, etc). If the invite list was broader, you will need to step up not in quantity but quality of interactions with 1-2 people who are actually involved in recruiting and will thereby flag your name to the campus recruiter. Invite only events are not an unofficial first round in that we don’t use them to weed people out but you’re correct that time is ticking. At least in US, applications for summer are due in 2 weeks which is when we will have solidified our shortlists

I was just trying to window down the slight of not being invited. We are starting office specific dinner invites. You need to have had some office specific interaction along the way, to get invited. However, the others are correct. It's not too late, bit you need to up your networking, and you need to not neglect your plan B.
Yes
Doesn't mean it is the only channel
You can still get an interview, but your going to need to seriously ramp up your networking.
We don’t start the recruiting interview selection for internships until late Dec / early January, it could very well be that recruiting didn’t have your resume and therefore didn’t know to invite you.
yup exactly how it worked at sloan as of several years back m5

Did you go to coffee chats and the open events? If so, my next question were how many were invited... and was this an office specific invite or an all McK invite? If office specific was it one you listed on your application?
SC1 - apps are in December.
In the Fall, The consulting clubs send your resume to MBB and in parallel you create a profile on the website with your info (including the Same resume) for networking events.
