Hi,
What will be the in hand salary for this?

Anyone here from Barclays finance/investment banking domains. Since most of the roles and packages discussed here are for technology/IT related. If anyone from finance background could share, whats the package Barclays offers for BA4 level in finance for anyone with 6-7 years of experience? Barclays, Barclays global service center

How is 3-4 years not considered mid level? Nobody is a junior for that long.

Whoa, copywriter 1, that sounds like junior creative pay
If you’re a junior for 3 years you’re doing it wrong

Yup, Head Of Client Services 1 is lost in translation. They clearly come from a world outside of Advertising. And I don’t have the energy (nor care enough) to explain it to them. Unsubscribing now .
Do you even know anything about Advertising? An Art “Director” does (if the agency is doing it right) directs designers and photographers and other people on the art of a project to make sure its cohesive. And one, after thirty years you’re probably not in the industry, but usually the goal is ECD (Executive creative director) or CCO (Chief Creative Officer) or the likes.
@CW2 That’s false. Even as a junior I art directed designers. The difference was I had a Senior AD over me who had final say. But that didn’t mean I wasn’t going on shoots and art directing production and such.
Ok. Reel back on the sass @AD1. I’m including ALL agency folks in the mislabelled, misinterpreted, and inflated comment - that includes myself. And I’m not 30 years in, hence I’m trying hard to keep myself in check with reality. There’s a long road ahead.
And your attitude towards commentary from people with other perspectives, continues to give creatives that unfortunate stereotype.
Every role managing projects or people requires giving direction. Being creative doesn’t suddenly make you more special than all the other roles in agency.
Agreed with @innocean1. We all need a reality check. If you’re mid-level after 3-4 yrs, what are you when you’re 30 yrs in?
HCS1 & Innocean: I know interns in their 30s and CDs in their 20s. Age has nothing to do with it. In creative, 3-4 years is enough to remove jr. from your title (which is all mid-level means in the creative dept). Perhaps you interpret mid-level as not being C-Suite, in which case you’re getting lost in translation .
I was mid level after 1.5 years, so I don’t get the surprise. And it’s not like it’s a huge jump. You just aren’t a Jr. I feel like (from what I’ve seen) the jump from mid to Sr. is bigger (and definitely takes longer).
Ok if it just means removing jr. from your title. But doesn’t really explain how you even have ‘Director’ in the title - Junior Art Director sounds like an oxymoron. Also seems misleading, and I don’t mean for others, but for one’s own expectations as you progress. Really, what do you expect to be titled by the time you’re 30 yrs into your career.
Anyway, this was a tangent, but all agency titles are grossly mislabelled, misinterpreted, and inflated.
If you’re 3-4 yrs into agency, expect what you deserve for that amount and type of experience. 80k is probably about right for an expensive place like SF.
Right but if you’re a junior, you’re not “directing” anything. I’ve always thought art director was a misleading title.
You’re still giving direction to the look and feel of the campaign. Not misleading
Lol, if you think I’m giving you sass. I’m just laying out facts. It’s not really “another” perspective if you’re wrong. But keep trying, honey. I don’t think I’m more special than any role. We all come together to create an end result, that’s what makes our jobs so cool. Strategy is as important as account as is creative. Don’t twist my words. I’m just saying the titles make sense if you’re in Advertising.
