Maybe as AI handles cognitive labor, humans may shift toward roles emphasizing connection, spiritual exploration, and holistic problem-solving. I think the ultimately challenge lies in framing AI not as a replacement but as a catalyst to deepen our focus on what makes us inherently human: creativity rooted in lived experience, relationships, and the search for meaning beyond utility
Maybe the goal isn’t to beat AI. If it crushes us at work, art, and learning, maybe that’s our cue to stop tying our worth to output. AI doesn’t get sad, fall in love, or ugly cry at 2 a.m. We do.
That mess? That’s the magic. Being human might not be about what we make. It’s about feeling all of it and still showing up.

This will not happen. AI may surpass us in some things. But AI will never be good at being human. AI will never have an original thought. Don’t believe all these people who can’t tell the difference between science fiction and reality.
As far as the meaning and value assigned to labor, this is a huge assumption about the future. The reason why the future is so hard to predict, is because predictions are always built on assumptions about continuing the path we’re in. But it is impossible to anticipate what disruptions, catastrophic changes, backlashes, new social movements will yield, and how they will affect the trajectory of the future.
For all we know, in a generation, humanity will collectively decide to pull the plug on AI altogether.
Been thinking a lot about this. Furthermore, what happens when intelligence becomes a commodity? Do we instantly devalue all professions that historically have been regarded as high-intelligence professions?
Doctors, Software Engineers, Lawyers. Are we really ready to level the intelligence playing field? What will this do to society at large?
No.
