I was thinking about projects coming down the pipeline, where we are with a certain major project, and goals for 2021. I don’t know what else to talk about or if those topics are even good? I wanted to leverage the hive mind in finding out how best to negotiate a verbal offer for a 100%-remote Product Manager role in NYC, with a IT infrastructure/digital services firm (MNC but non-American):

Base salary: 120k

Sign-on bonus:10k

Bonus: 15%

No stock options

How competitive is this, and what should I negotiate for please? The written offer comes after verbal agreement.

Can people working side gigs as consultants receive deferred compensation? Or has anyone seen other creative, legal ways that consultants can work now and get paid later? I have a side gig that could end at any time, and I don’t envision it going into 2022. Good problem to have, but the side gig is bumping me into higher tax brackets this year, while next year, I envision I’ll be back to lower brackets, so I was wondering if there’s a way to delay some of this compensation to next year.

How do you manage keeping track of and responding to teams chats and emails in a timely manner? I have a hard time addressing chats when I am focused on something else, because I know it will completely derail me. On my W2 federal wages are the same as NY state wages, how do I track down my New York w2 wages without access to my detailed timesheets? Can I just subtract my total wages from the state wages from my W2 of the other states I’ve worked in?
