Good luck with that one, brother!
What kind of work authorization visa do you have?
Received my Employment Authorization Document so that I can work while I wait for my Green Card/Residency to finish processing
I would say you definitely have a chance in europe or anywhere but the US. The US has such a grueling sponsorship process that a field in demand like consulting becomes impossible for foreigners especially without experience. There are plenty of graduate programs across europe that you would be eligible for if you are a an EU citizen that you would be a fit for. Maybe consider canada or australia too. If you want the US then you might have to stick it out until you manage to get a green card.
If sponsorship isn't an issue then you definitely can. I too got an MiM but struggled to get into consulting in europe but managed to get into it in the US mind you, I had the green card. It is a process, you'll have to apply to a lot and network your ass off. Apply to small boutique companies. This will take a while, so I wouldn't worry about waiting for the green card. Reach out to recruiters. A lot of employers will be confused by the concept of an MiM, use that to make it seem like an MBA.
Fellow kiwi here, did you get your temp green card or something else for work authorization?
Don't worry bout the noise on what type of work blah, you're good. You'll get a 2 year GC which you'll be able to turn into a 10year within that time (accepting that USCIS process is slow).
PM me. I’ve been through a similar path.
