I lateraled into a niche practice group in Sept 2021. I also have a 1 year old and have been mostly remote since I started - but have been keeping busy tracking towards 2400-2500 hours. That said getting to know people only remote has been kind of awkward at times (email only can be tough to decipher) although as a working mom the pros vastly outweigh the cons. I work at a ‘free market’ firm and have developed a very good reputation among partners. Naturally, they are drowning me in work. Each time a new case comes up, the partner will email asking if I have “time and interest” in helping. When I’m at capacity, I take these words at face value and explain why I can’t do it, and that seems to work out ok with no hard feelings. But what’s the “interest” thing? If I don’t want to work on a toxic tort case, do I just say that and pass?

EAs who manage people / have direct reports -- did your title change when you took on people management? What is your official title now?

(Context - trying to decide what title to recommend for EAs in our org who now manage people. Currently, we have multiple levels, but all EAs have the "Executive Assistant" title regardless of seniority / level / manager status.)

I applied for a Executive Staff Assistant for Kaiser. The range for this position is from $36-42/hr. I’ve been doing Health Admin for 10yrs starting as AD in the AF. I’m also in a Master Program for HCA. Advice on if this is low in CA.

I was really excited to switch job families and get into the PM space, however I feel like I really miss being an EA, and am thinking about going back to the role if I find a good team.
