My firm posts its COLA adjustment guidelines on the intranet every year, but from what I've seen, people's actual increases are all over the map. I'm thinking the policy is just for show. Do your firms actually follow their stated frameworks, or is compensation still basically arbitrary?

Any one aware of the laptop purchasing policy at kgs. Where we can purchase a laptop for max 1 lac and kgs will pay the entire amount to us provided bill is in its name and kgs will deduct the same amount from our salary in 36 installments.

I give massive kudos to all the parents out there juggling work and home life. But it’s starting to feel like I pulled the short stick by not having a kid. Really struggling to pick up all of the slack from all of the colleagues that do have kids and feel like the expectation is that parents should turn off while the rest are working from 7am - 2am everyday to make up for it.
