If the roles were reversed, would you want them to let you know? I'm guessing that's a yes. Give them the heads up and tell them what they should be shooting for, then leave the rest to their negotiating ability.
Coach
I would want to know, but my concern is that they may not have the tact to negotiate without saying “well so-and-so told me…”
Just say, "You should always try to negotiate for more." Leave it at that. This way, if your name is mentioned, you have lessened the impact. This is just good sound advice.
Nah thats corny and if they ur friend. Why cant u tell them hey this what i make u should go for.more.
Stay out of it. It’s between the employer and your friend. You can always say you think it’s too low but that’s it. Beyond that is none of your business.
Businesses may be adjusting their salary structure downward at this time, in keeping with the economy and the market. People looking to hire entry level do so with reimbursement in mind.
Ask how they see your value to the company. What the prospects are for advancement.
Inquire when you would be eligible for a salary adjustment? You don't want to appear like you won't stay. Get your feet wet. Get some experience under your belt and look to prove your worth. If you are over qualified, after a bit, let them know you are hoping for something more challenging. If you like the company and want to grow with them....
Absolutely tell them. I would be very upset with a friend who wouldn’t tell me I was leaving money on the table.
In certain states, like Oregon, it is a mandatory post that *equal work equal pay*..if said friend is doing the same job and perhaps could just say they already know this job there pays($) the company has to abide by the law.
I would absolutely tell them. You would want someone to tell you if it were you. Just let them know that they should try to ask for more.
If he ur friend like u saying then u should tell them.
Yikes…I would personally tell them and try to be a good friend
