I’m planning to exit consulting and would love to move away from my current HCOL city to a lower cost of living city (Houston, Denver, Chicago, Minneapolis, etc.). I’m a single male, mid-thirties, did well in consulting. Has anyone made this move around my age? Was it difficult to start over in a new city without knowing anyone, no friends or family nearby?

Chicago is not a LCOL city 😂😂😂

like

Ha, fair enough. Compared to SF and NYC, everything else seems to be low cost.

like

Denver is more medium COL. Reasonable rents but home prices have increased substantially over the last 5 years or so. Still nowhere near sf or ny, but definitely not Houston.

What HCOL

That’s a good one to add. Thanks.
