Take one day at a time. The students might be willing to push ahead since they are behind. Come at as a “we need to get caught up” mindset and challenge them with a really cool award at the end. Hope that helps.

Definitely helpful. Thanks!

My district’s music groups are losing not just rehearsal time, but also numbers due to COVID-related scheduling and online learning options. Personally I would program easier stuff to be successful with fundamentals and more tunes the kids like to keep them happy and in the program. Clinics, yes. Competitive festivals? I wouldn’t this year and not worth the potential negativity. I would consider ways to continue basic music instruction into the summer with an early camp/workshop experience for a month or so. No, you don’t have to (and likely won’t be able to) get caught up by the end of the year. Play the long game.

Don’t push yourself too hard, but you can definitely do it! Feel out the kids as you progress. I am about 3 weeks behind and I’ve been working hard to get caught up since January. I’ve found that I’m not testing as much as I normally would, but I do make it a point to hear every student everyday.

What specific tech skills are MBB looking for that they would be willing to offer flexibility on starting level. Again this is for the consulting not expert tracks at MBB. Many thanks in advance!

Has anyone quit from their BigLaw firm purely because of constant IT issues? Or at least does someone out there also think the IT folks at their firm purposefully go into your documents and systems and screw with them cause the specific overlap between the nature of the IT issues and the work you’re doing at the time is way too close and persistent—seemingly purposeful—to be a computer-generated problem?
