I worked 80 hours for three years at two different jobs just to pay off my loans. My best advice is to make sure they are completely different jobs. It helped me to not get burnt out to at least be doing two different things. One of my jobs was at a hospital, another at a retail store. Both were exhausting in their own ways, but not in the same way. Another big thing for me was being really intentional about my time off. Meal prepping, getting groceries delivered, keeping my house really minimal and clean. I couldn't work as much as I did if the rest of my life was in shambles, and eating takeout is just throwing money away.
This is helpful advice - thank you. Good for you for doing it for three years! I am a year and a half in and want to quit but know I need to push through it for longer to get my debts down.
I’ve had a side hustle before. What got me through was getting into a strict work routine. Working that much becomes "normal" and you'll get more comfortable with it. The only real adjustments I had to make were around social gatherings and family time. You also need to schedule time for rest to avoid any signs of burnout.
Makes sense. Thanks for the advice! I feel like that is where I am suffering most right now is making time for friends/myself.
I feel you OP. I am in the same position as you. I Have two little part time jobs in addition to my full time job and its very overwhelming and exhausting to say the least.
