I too enjoy working at a top 18 consulting firm.
I salute you, good sir.
Why not just state the consulting firm. What’s the point of saying top 6
It’s much better than #7 and slightly worse than #5. You need to know where you stand.
But honestly you are at MBB, an awesome boutique, and otherwise it doesn’t matter much.
Factor the bonus and other benefits into the offer. If consulting firm can’t match that 100K, I would chase the money.
Let’s say you don’t like the industry job, you can look again in consulting and ask for another 15% raise after a year or so.
Try not to focus too much on the money or even the growth of $$. You have plenty of time to make big bucks. I recommend picking the one that you think will give you a solid foundation to springboard off of.
Ask about day to day responsibilities, find out how much time is spent on mundane tasks, and which is likely to be more invested in your growth (not just lip service).
Top 6? MBB+S&+OW+K?
Or some different combination?
yes
There's no such thing as a top 6 consulting firm lol
It depends on career growth opportunities. In consulting you’ll be making 100k in 2 years and will keep growing whereas industry gives a 2-3% raise every year
Have to agree with C2. It also depends on industry. I spent 10 years in industry before going to b-school and almost doubled my salary after it going into consulting. Current industry salaries after b-school are hovering around 125 to 135. Tech is another ball game all together if that is what you are thinking. Also salary raises in industry for high performers (6 out of 10 years for me) were from 4% to 7% (7% was because a promotion after top performance). Bonuses were 8% of salary with a 0 to 2 multiple depending on year (most years was 1). This is for Big CPG and Automotive industries. Engineering field as well if that helps.
