Need advice. Do I go with (a) 250k plaintiff side employment lit or (b) $200-225 per hour defense litigation that includes employment, epl, business, and other practice areas that i can try out. Neither has a billable requirement. Both are fully remote. I'm currently at (a) working 30 hours per week. Health insurance for (a) is $700 per month HMO with 3k deductible & standard copay. (b) is $2,300 HSA per month. I might move to TX tho & then looking at $1'000 per month plan in TX. Thoughts??

I work as a Business Development Manager at a sports club.. I’ve been given a couple of months “trial” in the 6 figure and above sales in which I don’t see going back to my other role on lower sales. Does anyone know how litigation finance works on the plaintiff side? If someone wanted to bring a lawsuit against their former employer would a general contingency arrangement with a plaintiff’s firm make sense? Or would one need to find funding and then contact a plaintiff’s firm to actually handle the case? I’m a transactional lawyer, so this is out of my wheelhouse.

Any advice on how to deal with a partner/boss who is shifting all responsibility to me with zero guidance, no mentoring, and an unwillingness to discuss the issues? (Small firm, only associate under this partner and have been working at the firm for 2 years). There are an increasing number of passive aggressive comments from the partner who expects to be completely hands off once the case lands on my desk.
