Background:
I’m a PhD who has put 1 year in a boutique as an associate making 75K base. I just got offered an associate role at T2 firm making 100K base.

That’s great, but I was interviewing for an AC role originally; they gave me an experienced A because I bombed cases but they liked my fit.

Current thought:
I’ll still take it in this tough market. Do I have leverage to talk about early promos and talk about staffing before I join? Any advice?

I’m confused by all these posts about Product Owners. I’ve worked at 3 Bay Area-based tech companies over 6 years and never heard of a Product Owner. As a product manager, i work with my engineering and design partners to figure out what to build and then build it. What role would a product owner play in all this? My honest assumption is that this role was invented by companies that want to pretend to be doing agile but aren’t really, but I’m open to being proven wrong.

Could a position as an Office Coordinator be the same as Administrative assistant or could be considered as a higher role?

In my organization, most with my role are commission based. I make a set salary due to the firm I work for as an account manager/ coordinator for clients… I coordinate their enrollments, working with each groups HR department as to benefits and payroll purposes, and schedule our benefit counselors accordingly. I am finding that in most cases where I compare the voluntary benefits industry, I might be underpaid. What is an appropriate base salary for a position in which commission is replaced?

Why do Big 4 firms interview you for a specific position level and then try to make you come in below that level...

That would be a lateral move for me in terms of level which be okay if at least it was a good pay increase but Their quoted pay range for the lower level would make it almost a lateral move financially too..
