Personally, I like ETFs. Broad sectors. The dip from COVID has mostly come and gone. Oil is still struggling so there might be some opportunity there. Tech is doing well, watch it carefully for dips. Anyone else have any ETFs they recommend?

That’s what I’m talking about. Something with more room to bounce back.

Everyone is giving asset recommendations but I think the vehicle is just as important. You should max an IRA ($6k this year) for those sweet tax advantages

like

I looked into this and it seems I can’t because of income limitations. Is there similar vehicle with different income limits?

I’ve driven the same beater Toyota for 10 years and it’s starting to die. 26 years old, no debt, $125k in Roth retirement accounts, $25k in cash, no other real assets. Leaving DC to telework from parents’ house for a few months so no rent (temporarily at least). I’d put $10-15k down and the rest would be a 0% loan from Mom & Dad

Good traders tend to be flexible. I can make money in all kinds of markets, being a bull or a bear. Today was a headscratching day. We rallied a lot farther than we should have. We bounced in place's we shouldn't have. So, I have to ask myself? What the hell happened? While I made money today, I should have made lots more money. Remember the tip that markets don't count Pre-NY Mondays. If I decided to do my from last weeks low as opposed to today's low. I'm bullish. Additional info in reply post

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?

Start each class with a few seconds of stillness. It takes consistent practice. Most students will blurt something silly out after about 4 seconds. Expect it and smile. After time is up ask students to notice what they were doing during that time. No shame. Notice and strive to be more still next.

1. Hands, feet, mouth, arms, legs still (a veritable challenge)
2. Close the eyes.
3. Long exhales to bring in the calming chemical acetylcholine.

We will both owe taxes in excess of the current $7,500 cap (will see if that increases with the new budget bill). If we both own the car (i.e. both names on the title), how do we manage filing for the tax credit when filing separately? Do we just pick one of us to file?
