Need some honest opinions on working in VC please.

I am a Strategy Consultant (2yoe) and I am looking to pivot into the VC space.

Can someone who works in VC shed some light on:
- pay
- bonuses
- WLB
- job satisfaction
- independence (to source deals, focus on chosen sectors etc)
- career growth possibilities

I work as a Solution Specialist (sales rep) at an Authorizer Verizon retailer. Phone/wireless sales is not something I want to do forever. I have 4 years mobile sales experience and 3 additional years of niche sales/ customer service experience. I’m feeling stuck and every career/job move fells it is a step backwards. I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Have skills in messaging, product launches, and sales and enjoy diving deep on my personal investments (all public companies beyond a few RSUs). Have an MBA in the back pocket too. Thoughts are to join as a marketing expert and learn unique VC investment philosophy. Any advice on how to break into the VC world? Just started networking/planning.

I networked with VCs and one of them was receptive but didn't have the budget currently for a full time hire.
