New interview question just dropped: "Three ladies get on a train. The train is full. You want to give up your seat.

One lady only has one leg and has a crutch.
One lady is pregnant.
One lady has a young child with her.

To which do you give up your seat and why?"

Meanwhile I'm over here wondering how this question is applicable to the interview...

I will go with 1 leg and crutch, but curious what you were interviewing for to get this question.

like

I was actually assisting with the interview when my colleague brought this out of left field 😂

If they want a seat they can get there earlier.

funny

Now that's an answer I can get behind 😂

It just now dawned on me that possibly I wasn’t offered the most recent position I interviewed for at a bank because the company may think I’m overqualified. The position was for a basic customer service rep. My most recent role was a customer care rep for at a financial institution dealing with only IRAs. Before that I was loan closer at a mortgage company for 3 years. Plus I worked at a bank before. The interview was going great. Then he asked how would I feel if a customer asked me something I absolutely knew I could assist with due to my experience, but wasn’t within my job duties. He said he always asks applicants that who have extensive knowledge/experience due to their background. I let him know, I would stay within the guidelines of my role & transfer/refer the customer to the appropriate department as needed. Is this being overqualified really a thing? I was kinda surprised not receive an offer due to how well the interview went in addition to my background.

Being overqualified is a real thing. Sorry you didn't get the offer! Keep trying

The lady with the child because the child could sit on her lap

like

I will definitely go with the first lady. Did they provide any background as why this question was asked?

How about vacate the seat and let them work out who needs it the most?

Get out of the seat without making eye contact with anyone so they are forced to fight it out themselves. My money is on the lady with the crutch. In reality, I don't hesitate to scold some younger people for taking seats when others need them. They usually move.

Hi everyone, I'm new to Canada and want to start my career here in the Financial and Banking industry. I have passed the CFA level 2 exam and was wondering if I have to complete the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) as most of the job postings here mention about it. I saw that if someone passes at least the CFA level 1 exam then the requirement of CSC is exempted. Can anyone enlighten me about this? As the CSC exam costs above 1000 CAD, I wanted to be sure if I need it before investing behind it.

Just found out that end of the year I will be promoted from analyst directly to VP and since it’s such a large jump I’ll be the lowest paid VP in asset management at only $135k TC. Should I stay it out and wait for TC to align or take the promotion and jump ship bc I will likely get paid more elsewhere given how recruiters/other companies eat up hiring recently promoted ppl from other firms?
