You’re leaving off a really important piece here. People love to flex and flaunt. You can do this online now through profile pictures and when people view your wallet. Having that sweet ass Rolex IRL is like having a crypto punk in the meta verse. You instantly join a collective group of people that have status in the NFT community
Yes, flex culture will be big driver. Twitter is going to be “verifying” (ie validating ownership via blockchain) profile pictures shortly. Am sure other social media will follow. This will allow people to flex having a real punk, ape, etc
Look for the hybrid NFT art works where you will get a real physical art along with the digital copy. That’s my way of investment
Both options are available in openSea- pure digital art and physical + digital artwork. Checkout DailyDesignist artists on OpenSea. They have a lot of good collections
Gamification and the use of NFT’s as characters in the metaverse. There is so much untapped potential, NFT’s are still in the early stages
I’d look into NFT’s on Cardano. Just rolled out smart contracts and gas fees are non-existent. But of course do your own DD beforehand
Since I’ve bought a bunch, I’ve actually really enjoyed the community aspect as much as the art. The Discord channels of some of them are downright hilarious. If you look at a blue chip like Bored Ape Yacht Club, you can start to see how the brand is developing and will confer value you to holders down the line. There’s lots of good inside jokes, etc (disclaimer, I enjoy online culture)
My reccomendation would be pick 2-3 you think are interesting. Go into their discord’s and chat fir a bit with other owners then buy one. It’s the most fun thing I’ve done this summer.
Cool. Thank you.
NFTs are not just art. Read about them- the other utilities are what is incredibly interesting and most likely the future
I get that. I am reading about the future. But there’s a ton of fluff from organizations invested in the success of NFTs. Hence the ask for good non biased reads… I drank enough kool aid today…
To add to above, NFTs can combine data and utility with art/luxury. If you went to the first NFL game for example and kept that ticket, it would basically be a collectors piece of paper worth a considerable amount. If that ticket were an NFT, you could use it to go to the game while at the same time: keep that ticket in pristine condition, have it’s authenticity verified, transfer it instantly to anywhere in the world, and have data on who bought/sold it on chain.
Right click = $0
@VP1 while buying an ETH rock for 7figs now is probably not a good call, I can’t think of a more optimal investment outcomes than loading up on those 8months ago
Rising Star
The first money laundering case brought forth by the US government will set NFTs back some.
NFTs will expand far beyond what they are today. The JPGs are just the beginning.
I’m sure this has been said, but NFTs will also be used to transfer ownership of cars / home etc.
