Giving myself a proper morning routine as if I was going to work vs. waking up at the last second and starting work when I’m half awake.
Love this
Rising Star
Quiet quitting has been amazing for my mental health.
I have definitely done this before too
I had my job provide a work phone, which has Slack, emails, etc. I bring it when I’m going to medical appointments so I can work while I wait. Outside of 8-5 M-F, my work phone stays in my desk. My personal phone does not have work emails or Slack, so there’s no temptation to check.
I go for walks during my lunch hour outside (weather-permitting). It’s actually where my best work ideas are generated without even trying, despite me trying to disconnect from work to listen to music, move my body, experience nature. Maybe it’s the endorphins?
If I’m in a meeting where I’m not leading and I don’t have to take notes, I’ll fold and put away laundry and multitask. It’s great to get paid to do laundry (without neglecting my job).
Love this! I’ve recently turned off my phone notifications so I’m not as tempted to respond immediately after someone reaches out. I work in a different time zone and I used to get so startled getting messages at 4/5am
I do all my home tasking during my downtime at work (or during meetings that I'm not presenting, but listening into) so that when work is done I truly get to relax after closing the computer.
10/10 mental health improvement.
Such a good idea
However possible, make (and hold) a physical barrier when you are off the clock. Close the door. Put the laptop away. Close and put away your notebook. Don't leave stuff out... It radiates bad vibes into your personal (mind)space!
I schedule time midday to….ya know 😉
Love this for you
therapy
- Set a healthy sleep/wake schedule. Pretend you're getting up at an early time to be somewhere.
- Walk outside daily. Can plan calls around this. :30 is great, :15 still helps.
- For WFM, pick at least 1 day every week or 2 to work outside the house. Change of scenery helps.
- Clean/tidy working space, so you're not staring at your messy house thinking you need to clean it while you're "at work".
- Do chores while you work!
- Sunday 1 hour (or Monday AM 1 hour) to clean inbox, assess calendar & handle person agenda.
- I make a smoothie every day at home :)
Boundaries are everything so good on you. I finally tried EMDR therapy and now a similar method called brainspotting. It has a great way of cutting to the chase, where that’s not always a given in talk therapy. More clarity, less mental clutter.
Oh I’ve been wanting to try this!!
