I would say public accounting is not bad when trying to use it as a jumping board. (Me trying to leave now)
I took advantage of “Work from home” and started my own business during covid which made my kpmg $7,000 monthly take home pay seem like literal SCRAPS…
Out of curiosity, what is your new business? Are you doing taxes for people, building stuff, teaching guitar, etc?
Im always curious where people pivot to, and if its some sort of creative outlet (opposite of accounting)
Its also funny we were all pushed the college route and of course AI is now coming for our jobs 😭 but AI cant do manual labor

See my other replies. Everyone assumes I went to industry or something. Not at all. Turned into 100% business owner, while maintaining my cpa to do my own books for my personal business that took off since covid. The freedom and stressless life is intoxicating
