It’s always been gross pay displayed. Never net because that can vary depending on what the person chooses for medical insurance, 401k, etc. Competitive always seems to be more the employer thinking they’re competitive when they’re actually not.
All pay has been listed at gross for decades --- net pay involves know tax exemptions, health care choices, etc
This is not new --- everyone knows advertised rates are gross amounts & not take home pay
Listing gross pay is standard practice and has been for as long as I an remember. The spirit of this post is still valid. It's your responsibility to do the math on every offer you receive to make sure you're going to get paid enough to make it worth your while.
