OKAY FINANCE FRIENDS, how unrealistic is this?! Leave stressful role as an FA with a $1mm book to go and be in Investor Relations of some sort—the role is hybrid and allows for WFH and travel, but still in office 2-3 days per week.

Does this role exist? My salary is $175k and my max bonus if I get one annually is around $50k— 32F, West Coast, HCOL.

I’m burnt out on my comp plan that’s discretionary AF and there has to be a better way. Every year the goals get bigger and I’m TIRED.

Recently heard a friend’s employer backed out of h1b sponsorship last minute (they previously promised her to sponsor h1b), and now she has to leave the US. Did you all have your employers promise to sponsor H1b in writing? How to avoid a situation like this?

Is IB worth the sacrifice of WLB? Obvious pay is really good but are the prestige and pay worth it if you’re planning on only doing it for a couple years?

Currently working at an IRA with great WLB. Honestly I love my job, the firm, and people I work with.

I accepted a FADP offer but I have lifelong crippling anxiety It leads to (TMI) diarrhea, I can’t sleep at night, among a lot of other issues. I see a therapist and have their support in school accom. I appear high functioning and ever since uni went remote my life and performance has only improved. I know I’m capable of getting the work done and they must see potential if they hired me. But I feel that if I ask for WFH or other accom. I’m gonna be shooting myself and my career in the foot.

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

I have a degree in biology and would like to break into finance specifically IB. Currently working an entry level position at JPMC. Any advice on the steps I should take? Willing to work hard and complete training/licensing. How does it work if your degree isn’t really in accounting, business, or finance?

I am so beyond ready to leave my current job, but can’t yet, since bonuses are paid out in January. 😬
