Okay I need some help deciding on a few places to interview. I’m looking at Slalom, Captech, and Eagle Hill Consulting. I’m in the DC area and want a smaller company after having spent my career in big4. I’ve done the initial rounds and all have the same salary roughly for what I would be applying to. Any one able to share thoughts on any of the above? Anyone at those companies that want to share? Slalom Consulting CapTech Eagle Hill Consulting

I've been at Eagle Hill for about a month! I've been enjoying it so far. Excellent benefits package, work/life balance is A++, and the leadership is very transparent. Happy to chat some more if you have any questions!

What skills do you have. Each firm has their niche area. Also....are you looking to slow down or do you still want to crush it but with a smaller firm?

Eagle Hill has best WLB on vault but I believe does a ton of government work. So the two go together but do you want to do boring government work.

I’ve done federal work my whole career and am rather frustrated with it. So looking to maybe try non fed work. My background is agile, project and program management. Not sure I want to slow down too much. But I’m definitely burnt out

Pros:

- fairly decent place to work (from someone who worked with the Vancouver and San Jose offices). never met a blue badger (permanent employee) who had awful things to say.

- Ashley Goodall (their SVP, Methods & Intelligence) co-authored a brilliant book on leadership and people management called “Nine Lies About Work” that makes me believe they can be an awesome place to work

Cons:

- red badgers had low morale since they’re contract workers and can be terminated at any time

Dilemma: I am 1 of 4 workstream leads on a large digital transformation programme. My background is Enterprise Architecture, and I am leading a team that includes Enterprise, Solution, Integration and Data Archs.

If I wasn't so desperate for the resources, I'd roll off 2 new integration archs that recently joined.
