OW is a very good firm in general. Some things are as well established as McK / BCG, and some other things fall behind the curve in terms of maturity. Overall, it's a solid firm. In the ME, they punch above their weight, and are reaching a size that is only second to McK and BCG in the region.
Top leadership in ME embodies work hard, play hard culture deeply ingrained in their DNA. Super sharp and focused commercially. Much more entrepreneurial in the way the firm operates than many of our competitors.

Here is how you should interpret it:
- Work hard, play hard: they spare no expense in offsite events, parties, drinks. Ask around
- Commercially sharp: keeping tight tabs on business and are quick to act to adjust for market. But surprisingly they aren't so quick to fire people
- Entrepreneurial: less relevant to non Partners. Partners have a lot of freedom to do what they want. Much more meritocratic and transparent in the way they get compensated, so you know who's commercially viable and thriving. You want to find and stick to them unless they are an a-hole
Life is good, you know what I mean
From a completely outsider perspective they are increasingly positioning themselves to be the top T2 in the region
A very good firm. Culture is meritocratic and not biased towards any one single group - if anything there is probably too much focus on maintaining diversity in gender, education, ethnicity etc which I think is good for the firm in the long run but can be tiring at times in the short term.
Is good at PS, FS Telco and I feel increasingly transportation and energy.
There is a deliberate effort at maintaining good work life balance but in the region it is tough to always get to it.
The firm being part of MMC means that you get a lot of care in travel, insurance, risk management etc. Systems are in place for almost all scenarios - which if you are an expat is reassuring.
I think you are the one who posted the question about moving as a partner - on the partner board! Hope this adds to my response there. Good luck!
Excellent firm, on par with MBB in the region and they often win projects from us. Fantastic culture and not as much favouritism as you see in BCG
Joke of the century to compare OW culture to S&
Not there myself but wife worked there briefly. Strong in FS as expected. Loads of long term (some like 5, 10 y) projects with central banks, regulators and regular banks. A lot of exotic projects in places such as Libya, Kuwait and Iraq. Heard they are doing some sports projects in the KSA.
Culture wise, seems to be on the better side, so nothing like S& etc. It's still ME though so obviously the culture is not great. I also have a few friends working there and they are happy there. Seems to me that their country diversity and long term projects protected them from the consulting shutdown the ME is going through.

forget Kuwait. I have a friend working at OW in a project in Erbil and he seems depressed

Anecdotal - I heard from a friend that culture is pretty good, especially when ME sets such a low baseline, lol
They're pretty strong in FS (not at the M level, though) and transportation/ logistics
Layoffs are brewing at OW as well, although not to the extent other have, primarily due to long term contracts

Are they hiring?
Thanks all, very helpful
