Has anyone done the Blackstone pymetrics?
After submitting my resume for the Global Finance and Business Management full time position at JP Morgan (my dream job!), I got a HireVue invite the next day! However, I completed it 9 days ago and still have no response....
When do we get a response in average, and after how much time does it mean I probably am not getting an offer to continue?
Thanks!

2. I have a few friends who are great at their jobs and yet haven't been able to find employment after layoffs. Things are going to get a lot worse before they get better imo.

Yeah, that really says a lot about the state of things. It’s not even about skill anymore, timing and luck seem to play a huge role nowadays. I’m trying to stay optimistic, but it’s hard not to feel a bit uneasy about what’s coming.
Job market is always slow in the 4th quarter. Don’t quit job until you have something else lined up. Speaking from my experience, I give the job market right now a 2.
Fewer jobs that align with my background. Very slow for hiring people to respond.
I’m at an 8. I see a lot of good opportunities around me and have had a couple of headhunters contact me.

That’s awesome to hear! It’s nice to see someone feeling optimistic about the market!

I’m around a 5… I think we will see a contraction sometime soon, whether that is priced into the market or not, I don’t know… but household balance sheets are okay… delinquency is up on homes and cars… and Anthropic’s CEO said we will experience a “white-collar bloodbath” in a few years, doesn’t bode well for most consumers…
We’ll see… we’re in an odd place, full employment, strong spending, holiday season coming, inflation is up, and yields are rising when the Fed is cutting, so that’s a risk on measure…

That’s such a solid take. It really does feel like we’re in this strange in-between phase where all the signals are mixed. Everything looks “fine” on the surface, but the cracks are showing if you look closer. The “white-collar bloodbath” comment definitely stuck with me too… it feels like the calm before something big shifts.

I think it's regional. Where I'm at, there is no shortage of opportunities. However, if you're at the director level or higher, I can imagine it would be tough.

Probably a 5. Doesn't seem to be awful but doesn't seem to be great. Could go either way.

Yeah, that sounds about right - kind of a coin toss right now.

Probably a 3. Been looking for a job since early July. No luck. Starting to wonder if maybe I’m doing something wrong

Ah, I feel you. Sometimes it’s just timing, not you so don’t be too hard on yourself. Have you been getting interviews at least, or has it been quiet across the board?
It’s a 2. I have 200 apps out, engaged my network, and have looked for a full year. Compare to 2022 where I applied to 5 jobs and got 3 offers within a month
