I love this. Employees should ALWAYS be supportive of each other when it comes to respecting personal time. Our team has a lot of flexibility, so we can take time when we need it as long as we communicate with each other to make sure everything is covered.
The whole point of taking time off is that it's supposed to be restorative and let you come back to work with a fresh outlook. But people tend to overlook that and never really fully disengage. If you don't log off while taking time off, you're really not being a good employee, as you're defeating the whole purpose of time off. I always try to remind coworkers to take time off and really disconnect.

Exactly this. You can't pour from an empty cup.
My boss is really good about this, actually. We rarely burn out because he seems to know when we're heading in that direction and prevents it ahead of time. Whether he encourages us to take a day off, takes on some of our responsibility, or is otherwise supportive and asks what we need. Having an amazing supervisor can mean the world.
Coach
Your manager/supervisor can make or break a job. Glad you've got one that is supportive and looks out for you.
I am glad you were able to disconnect; you need that. In my team, I do the same. I don't reach out to the person, and I encourage everyone to be off too. I also try to show the example that if I am off, I have prepared everything necessary to make sure they won't need me.
Coach
Agree with the leading by example point. Similarly, I don't like to send emails after hours (even if I write them after hours) because it contributes to a culture where people feel they need to be "on"
Coach
Echoing the above! I’m lucky that my teams too really respect time off. I also spend a good amount of time before I’m off preparing a coverage document, meeting with individual teams, etc so everyone feels covered (and therefore won’t bug me!)
Coach
Putting in the work ahead of time so you can actually enjoy the time off is a good point!
Good for you, enjoy the time away! You've got good coworkers, I'm glad they're encouraging you to fully disconnect. I try to do the same with mine. If anyone is on PTO, I do my best to avoid including them on any email chains or anything else that might distract them from enjoying their time away. It's not always possible, of course, but when it does happen, I make sure they feel no pressure to respond until after they're back in office.
Coach
I do like to remain CCd on things so I have the receipts when I get back, but I appreciate when people keep me off of Teams messages I don't necessarily HAVE to be on.
