One lesson I have picked up during my job search is to ask about the company's data environment, not just the role itself. A team can describe exciting projects, but the day to day reality may still involve spreadsheets, manual reporting, and fragmented data processes. I have found that asking about their data stack, or analytics platform often reveals how mature their workflows really are. What questions do you ask during interviews to uncover what the job actually looks like behind the scenes?

We have a project that would generate social impact, and our short term goal is to propose it to ASHOKA to help us develop it. Before that we would like to assemble a team that will be part of "the board" with all the resources we are needind and most importantly people that "empathically share our preoccupation for the immigrants". Very specific to retail and/or hospitality in-house roles: has anyone found a good solution for predictive scheduling? Our retail division has one set of software for scheduling and one for payroll, and neither of them can handle predictive scheduling compliance issues unless they’re used for both the scheduling and payroll functions. I think it might be time for me to find a new job and pursue sobriety, but I don't feel like I'm a rock bottom which is the only time I've ever seen people really commit to it (my father). Apathy isn't the right word but I just kind of feel numb about everything and I think being sober would maybe help.
