I am an IP attorney (prosecution) I am totally burned out from patent drafting (never enjoyed it) and I have been trying to get a job in-house for years with mixed results. Anywhere from a long list of generic thanks but not thanks emails to final round interviews. Pretty desperate to get out of firm life but seems like I can't get any traction. Currently at BNY Mellon with 10 YOE, specifically in Corporate Trust working CLO/CDO’s (first job out of college). Clawback clause in current contract: been in role for over 2 yrs, it was an internal move that required relocation. Relocation was approved shortly after (over 2 yrs ago) but covid meant the actual move and start of my contract with new subsidiary was delayed, I was paid by the previous subsidiary meanwhile. I got small relocation package. Would internal move be subject to a buy-out/clawback clause if I leave now and if yes, is it time in role or time under new contract? Any experience? Thanks!

Do you think it will be of any benefit from career standpoint to pursue Post Graduate Diploma in Management(PGDM) from Grade A (IMT/NMMIS etc.) college in India through Distance learning. I’m having 11 years of experience and currently working as an Individual Contributor.

So... Switching jobs but they have a 60-day waiting period for insurance at the new spot. Do I pay full premium on insurance for those months, or is it the same? I do not understand COBRA.

Should I leave my first permanent job as a team leader of 4 DPs in a FMCG business (only been there for 4 months) to join a huge Tech business for a 12months contract?

They offer me 60% more money than my permanent role. Circa 2000 dollars every month in my pocket

However, I am worried if I accept the tech role and I do not become permanent I will be looking again for a job in 12-24 months and my CV won't be showing a managerial position. Won't be showing any progress.
