How's the wlb here?
Hi Fishes
I want to share very bad experience I had at Mastercard
I was given offer by Mastercard in month of Dec The hike was less but looking at brand & other perks I accepted the offer & was looking forward to joining them.I got few offers & I went back to them for sole purpose of renegotiating CTC, to have a industry standard hike. They didn't reverted back for 2-3 days & just dropped a mail that they are revoking initial offer as well on grounds that they didn't like i gave other interview

I mean, it’s super easy to prevent expiration. AA will also likely change this soon as they largely just copy UA/DL
Sign up for their dining rewards and link your credit cards. As long as some place you eat during the year is a member, you get miles and AFAIK, they won't then expire.
Of all the reasons not to fly AA (horrific operational reliability, terrible customer service, tone deaf management), this is the deal breaker for you? You can literally buy something you’d buy anyway from any retailer on AAdvantage eshopping once every 18 months and not have the miles expire.
Many of the consultants here will quit consulting at some point in time so preventing expiration by redeeming is not a smart option.
If you don’t keep a miles-earning credit card, use their shopping portal for instance to earn miles on shopping. Or miles for some restaurants in their dining program. Or donate some miles on occasion. Any activity resets the counter.
D1's right, so many different ways to prevent them from expiring. Not a meaningful differentiator
United must have started this recently? I have definitely lost miles from them (2018), as I wasn't paying attention and considered reinstating but realized it wasn't worth it. I'm sure AA will jump on the same bandwagon, seriously these programs are all the same, just a matter of a year or so and they all catch up with each other. A game changer for Southwest is still the fee free changes and free checked bags.
United made this change at the end of August
