Is there a big difference between Fuqua and Kellogg if you want to go into big tech strat or product roles post mba?

Looking to switch from Audit into another career path. However, just not sure what that would be. My long-term goal is to become a forensic accountant (minimum 10-15 years from now). Studying for the CPA exam, and once that is done I'd like to sit for the CFE exam. Current interests are in the private/corporate accounting industry (cost accounting, possibly tax, etc). Thoughts? Suggestions? Any help is greatly appreciated, thank you!

Advice: if you do not know what to do after your MBA, do yourself a favor and do not apply. I've seen too many examples of people trying to figure it out in their 1st semester, it doesn't work & you will be stressed out. Recruiting goes by fast, and you need to prep before you step your foot on campus.

26M making $155k base and about $185k TC at a large payments firm (Visa, MC, AmEx). I’m also 1 year away from promo which will probably get me to $210-220k TC. Do you think I still need an MBA? A lot of senior leaders in my team have 1 so I’m really not sure at this point. The opportunity costs are high, but I’m well aware of the long term benefits. I’ve also already taken the GMAT and gotten a 740. I’m an Asian male and find the hurdles that we go through for admissions a turn off as well.

Currently been in DDV the past 3 years and I am stuck. I’ve had interviews and final rounds but feel like my experience is too general to get the offer. Was laid off from D recently and have been interviewing primarily for strategy roles. Curious for any advice converting in final rounds. I have been through several at this point and not gotten the offer. Received very positive feedback from the teams about my performance but in each case they said it was very competitive and ended up going with someone with slightly more direct experience. Tough to go through several 6+ week multi round processes and not convert. Any help or advice appreciated!

Anyone start a consultancy on their own? How was it? Looking at my rate, partner pension definitely soaks up all the winnings (not complaining, we are paid well), but I’d like to be the captain of my own ship and take more of the earnings.

L1A visa question: I'm working at MBB and moved to Canada due to Visa issues. Now, my Immigration team is asking me to work on ONLY Canadian client projects so that I'm eligible for L1. Are you aware of any such eligibility criteria for L1A? I know so many people from Big 4 who go to India offices and continue to work on US clients, and then get L1 visa.

In terms of work life balance/lifestyle, how different is it when comparing a big 4 TAS group to a GT or BDO TAS group?

I found out today that my employer doesn’t offer any paid parental leave (maternity or paternity). This isn’t a major issue now, but my wife and I are planning on trying in a year or so from now. How many other employers don’t offer any paid leave at all? Coming from public accounting this seemed outrageous to me, but curious to see what other companies are like.
