The ability to get involved with local beer and coffee producers has been a huge factor for me, so I’m guessing the comparative lack of local wine producers has contributed to me struggling to understand more of the process, culture, tasting notes, etc.

I need advice from the collective. It seems like there is a trend to sell wine in unique bottles. The only problem with this, those bottles will not fit into my wine fridge. How do you deal with a manager / junior partner who is always nitpicking and questioning why you did what you did, or telling you what you did is the wrong way to do things? It’s generally prefaced with them only doing this to help you grow, but has the exact opposite effect on me. And then when you try to explain your POV, you’re tagged as being defensive. Generally ends me with saying I’m sorry. No other partners at the firm have ever raised any concerns on my communications or work product.

Getting worried about hours. Last year I was really low (first year associate), I’ve had really good reviews so far and no negative feedback. This month was slow too (about 95), and I really don’t understand why I can’t get work? I’ve asked different partners, including the heads of my groups, but it hasn’t really materialized anything.
