Our hospital simplified the EMR login process and somehow made it take three times as long to get into a patient's chart. I now have to use a badge tap, a fingerprint, and a rotating code on my phone just to see a set of vitals. Seriously. I get that security is important, but in an emergency, these security layers feel like a barrier to actual care. Is your EMR also getting more annoying to use? Should I push back?

I would suggest timing yourself and also providing specific examples of how this has already gotten in the way of your work. As someone who has been on the other side of implementing changes like these, it is very possible that the people involved in making these decisions have no idea how they will impact your day to day. Whether or not it will change is another question but at least you have made them aware.

Sometimes I walk around my house calling my dogs name, pretending I don’t see him, even though he’s right there on the couch. I walk around “searching” for him. Due to obvious conditions my comp for the calendar year (salary+bonus) is back to 2017 levels although my overall sales are more than double and 1/3 less total comp than last year. It seems like comp opportunity is always decreasing during good times (I get it) but when it comes to adjusting during bad times, nothing was done. Is this normal for industry sales?

It’s a total shift that would really heal my work-life balance, job satisfaction and budget. My only fear is that I would not be using the license and degree that I worked so hard for. I would appreciate any input!!!!
