Outside, the blizzard turned the world white. Inside, my team was wilting under the rush of stranded guests.
I ditched my desk, grabbed a cloth, and started clearing tables. "I'm on point with you," I told them. That simple shift changed everything. We stopped rushing and started connecting.
In that freezing winter, we weren't just a hotel—we were a hearth. I realized then that leading isn't about giving orders; it's about sharing the load.

It's great to have such a good connection with your team and have good shifts like this. Sounds homely and lovely.

Absolutely! When the team clicks and the shift flows smoothly, it really makes work feel more like a community than just a job. Those shifts stick with you.

I wish more managers felt this way, instead of overloading onto their team. Many companies wonder why they don’t have a good culture. It’s because they don’t invest in their people, or care for that matter

Exactly! A company’s culture reflects how much leadership actually values their people. Overloading teams without support only drives burnout and turnover—it’s no wonder morale suffers.

Hi, I'm an employee at a hotel chain who works remotely. I've been working remotely for over a year now and I love it! The company I work for is very supportive of remote workers, which is great.

But there's one thing that's been bothering me: it's hard to get feedback on my work when I'm not in the office. It would be great if there was some kind of system that let me know how my performance was being evaluated while I'm working on projects from home.
