Exactly! My team knows that I log off by 6pm each day and will not work weekends. Unless the firm is actually going to go into bankruptcy if we don’t do some piece of work immediately (which will never actually happen), I tell my team it can absolutely wait.

Yeah. Worse now. But I think for me the extra hours are caused by those few constantly stirring up issues. How are things always a disaster with the same people late nights and weekends? Unable to do anything about it now so putting up with it.
100%, especially at the associate level! Of course new hires and associates will say yes when asked to do something because were new and want to do good work, and everyone above us knows this and exploits it. They know we don’t have family or other real responsibilities outside of work so I feel like I’m being worked all hours of the day.
