Do you find your flexibility is exploited now that travel is banned and you're working from home? Specifically tech consulting I.e..

You need to set boundaries. Otherwise they’ll walk all over you.

Exactly! My team knows that I log off by 6pm each day and will not work weekends. Unless the firm is actually going to go into bankruptcy if we don’t do some piece of work immediately (which will never actually happen), I tell my team it can absolutely wait.

smart

Yeah. Worse now. But I think for me the extra hours are caused by those few constantly stirring up issues. How are things always a disaster with the same people late nights and weekends? Unable to do anything about it now so putting up with it.

100%, especially at the associate level! Of course new hires and associates will say yes when asked to do something because were new and want to do good work, and everyone above us knows this and exploits it. They know we don’t have family or other real responsibilities outside of work so I feel like I’m being worked all hours of the day.

Any working mothers in here who loves the company they’re working for? I am thinking about switching firms and need some honest thoughts on companies that doesn’t only say, but actually practice flexibility for work life balance and offers good $$$.

I am a high performer at my current firm but they started questioning working arrangements of folks based on the new members who are huge in-office folks, fast turnover within the team, etc. This wasn’t an issue when I first joined.

Good morning!

I would love to get into provider credentialing, but all employers I've looked at want at least 3 years of experience. So, I'm looking at Provider Network Coordinator roles, because I'm finding some of those roles don't need AS MUCH experience. I'm a RHIT, and have been working in healthcare for nearly 10 years.

Anyone know who might be looking for a network coordinator?

Do you pay your credit cards in full every month?

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

I recently accepted a position with a new org. One of the benefits I asked about with offer was the parental leave policy and was told (in writing by HR) 16 weeks paid after 1 year, which is as good as you can hope for in US. Now I’ve been sent the employee handbook to review/sign and it says only 12 weeks, which is less than the org I’m leaving. What might my recourses be to negotiate 16 weeks when the time comes? Also, should I be viewing this is a red flag?
