Not sure how clients can really have faith in PW representing their interests in any cases involving the government

Or at all? I mean, who wants to hire a firm that caves in the face of an unenforceable EO. Are they capable of fighting for you ?

like

PW just proved White House execute orders are for sale. Going rate is $40 million

It’s not 4D chess. It’s corruption. Trump essentially extorted PW with an arbitrary executive order that would have dramatically reduced their business and they’re paying his ransom.

Remember that these businesses don’t really care about diversity. Five days of revenue to get out of the news is worth it to them.

They would fight about something that mattered to them. Trump knows that.

First they came for that snake Comey, a leaking deep-state rat,
And I didn’t care—
I’m no rotten Democrat.

Then they came for that hack Letitia, a vindictive DEI AG with a grudge,
And I stayed silent—
I’m no crooked Democrat.

Then they came for that traitor Bolton, a war-hungry sellout with a book,
And I didn’t flinch—
I’m no spineless Democrat.

Then they didn’t come for me—
Because America was being liberated, and the real fight was just beginning.

Fun Fact: Tuesdays are most productive. Maybe it’s because we’re motivated to get more work done to get the week to go by faster or because it’s the day with the least absenteeism, but Tuesdays are the most productive day of the week for American workers.

I am a mid level and have received an offer from a regional big law firm in a non-market paying location. I believe the firm would be a great fit and the location is where I want to be. The biggest issue is money. I’d be lateraling from full cravath in a major market and the initial offer I received is a bit off that (read: 50% salary reduction). While the market is cheaper in some respects, housing is not. How far can I expect this firm to go to in terms of compensation? Any negotiation tips?

After many years of doing purely corporate law, I recently moved inhouse to do structured finance. Honestly, I am in unknown territories. My boss also not patient about my re-learning process yet they knew from the interview that I know close to nothing about structured finance. I am 2 months into my 6 months probation period and I am worried that I might have bit more than I can chew. FYI - I am doing all I need to do to learn (books) but still struggling. Any pointers on how to get it faster.

How many matters is typical for one associate to handle (BL lit)? I know it is group-specific, but just trying to get a general idea. I’m a 2nd year and I am the only associate staffed on about 30 cases-meaning I keep track of all deadlines, do all day to day assignments, keep on top of following up with client/OC, and all research/drafting. Partners handle deps/court but that is about it. Is this a normal case load to be responsible for as a jr? I being dramatic by thinking this is too much?
