I should have done start up or fintech.
Was a necessary stepping stone to get into MBB with a non-target undergrad. Not fun though :)
The 2+ years helped steer me to banking. I guess had I known I wanted to do banking, then perhaps I could have skipped B4 (was actually B6 when I was there). No complaints or regret though.
I was on the assurance side, my group focused on technology risk management. After leaving B4, I did IT audit for a few years at a bank before I was able to pivot into a front office role in wealth mgmt.
Move around the firm. Staying in one line of service can get old real quick
Nope. I started at a mid-sized company. But if I were given a chance to work at B4, I think I'd skip it first.
It was a lot to take as my first job straight out of college and it definitely took a lot out of me. If I could've done things differently, I would've chosen a smaller to mid-sized company first.
I was just thankful I had a job. I am not the type of person to dwell on the past. It was tough but it paid my bills and it was a really good stepping stone.
