Personal injury peeps- what do your caseload numbers look like? I’m struggling to handle 105 cases, but I’m only in my tenth month at my first job in this field.

A respectable caseload would be around 30 active litigation and allow for a fair work/life balance. You can maybe add another 10-15 if in pre-suit or slow/inactive. Anything past that is pushing it and the risk is burnout and/or malpractice. The ID business model is based on churn and burn so they won’t care if you burnout and will put as many as they can on you. If you scream loud enough and or mess up files/piss off clients enough then you may earn a temporary reprieve. But that also usually means you’re a target for criticism, improvement plan, or out the door.

ID is the worst. It is a total grind, and there's never making adjusters happy.

I should have added that I work in pre-litigation.

Oof, yeah I’ve seen 150+. On non-attorney case managers and attorneys 😅

Last year I received an offer at Deloitte Belgium but due to Brexit & VISA delays, we couldn't continue. Now I'm unsure of my career progression & need guidance.
